Garden Landscaping – Create A Theme First

A garden can be an exotic retreat or a festive gathering place depending on the garden landscaping chosen by the property owner. A wonderful garden is probably a combination of the two. The garden landscaping should be planned before one plant is purchased or furniture delivered. An expert might be consulted, but there are many resources for getting ideas about garden landscaping. An organized property owner will consult as many sources as possible. The property owner should take some time to decide on a theme for the garden. A focus theme for the garden will bring a unity to the plants and furniture that the property owner places in the garden eventually.

The theme of the garden should reflect the interests of the property owner so that the garden landscaping will provide a retreat from the daily duties. An exotic theme might provide a vision of far away places such as Thailand or Tahiti. The furniture could reflect the theme as well as the plants. Sitting in the garden will give a feeling of being far away from the daily routines. The theme might be based on African venues with thoughts of the safari villages of Kenya or Tanzania. The garden landscaping based on an African theme might even make one think of giraffes and zebras just over the horizon.

Take Time to Plan Garden Landscaping
Once a theme has been chosen, there are many sources for buying the tools needed to produce that theme. The local library will have books about the locale chosen for the theme. If you want to recreate a safari village, check out some of the books on that area of the world.

The catalogs with garden furniture will also provide some ideas for garden landscaping around a particular theme. Someone in the family can send out notes to get as many catalogs as possible to find out what items are available. Many catalogs are now available online so check out these sources to see what might be used for your garden landscaping.

After checking out sources for the furniture, the property owner should visit the local nurseries and garden centers to check out the available plants. Look carefully to see which ones will produce your garden landscaping theme. The plants could add much to the garden landscaping theme. When planning a garden landscaping scheme, there are certain touches that will produce the desired effects. Torches might add to an exotic theme or certain carpeting or tiling on the patio could add to a Southwestern theme.
