Long Term Memory Exercises and Training
Look back at your school days and try to remember what you learnt. You probably can’t recall the exact lessons, but you’ve retained the information you were taught. You can still read and write, you know your mathematics tables and you can probably recall most of your teachers’ names.
How is it that all this information is accessible to you?
Because it’s been stored in your long term memory, so chances are you will always remember these details. Is there a way to improve your long term memory so that you can store more information for a longer time? By using long term memory exercises you can improve your long term memory. Using long term memory exercises allows you to store information permanently in your brain, and allows you to recall details quickly and easily.
Long term memory exercises can be learnt in a variety of ways, from audio or video tapes, through classes or on the internet at sites dedicated to memory improvement. The techniques that you are taught show you how to file information in your brain so that it is easy to retrieve. The methods used help you to store, and then retrieve things with the same ease that a computer is able to. This is achieved by teaching you how to store information in a way that is easy to recall.
Mnemonics
A great long term memory exercise training is to use mnemonics. This is a method that can be used to help you remember difficult information. By using acronyms, or words where each letter represents a particular word, like KISS (keep it simple, stupid) or story’s or songs, you can learn to recall difficult information easily. A well known mnemonic is the song used to teach children how many days are in each month. Nearly everyone knows that rhyme, which proves that using mnemonics as a long term memory exercise is effective and does indeed help to enhance your memory.
